Tatis Jr.’s bat topples the Angels in Padres win

Aruban Xander Bogaerts hit a three-run home run and stepped on the rubber twice and Fernando Tatis Jr. added two runs and three RBIs as the San Diego Padres defeated the Los Angeles Angels 9-3 on Monday.

For Parents this it was just their third win in their last 10 gameswhile for the Angels it was their fifth setback in their past six games.

For Bogaerts, who is set to be one of the productive hitters in the Padres’ lineup, this was his first home run since June 23, when he hit a three-run homer against the Washington Nationals.

Prior to his three RBIs against the Angels, Bogaerts he had only carried an RBI to the scoreboard for those of San Diego.

Apart from the loss, the Angels retired their star Mike Trout, who, in the eighth inning of the game, presented discomfort in one of his hands when executing a ‘swing’.

Bogaerts was in charge of removing the padlock from the marker andwith the Dominicans Juan Soto and Manny Machado on the bases, he drove the ball over the wall to drive in three runs against Jaime BarrĂ­as (2-4) in the first inning of the game.

Jake Cronenworth brought the fourth lead home in the fourth when he hit an infield single that allowed Bogaerts to score from third base.

The Angels broke the ice in the sixth when Taylor Ward doubled to right that gave him a chance to reach the buzzer to the Venezuelan Luis Rengifo.

Trout followed Ward with a hit into center field to add the second run of that sixth inning for the Angels.

The Padres responded by adding two more runs. to his account in the bottom of that sixth inning.

The first came unquestionably from Machado, who pushed his compatriot Soto.

The second came from Cronenworth, who tagged in Tatis Jr. with a sacrifice fly to right field.

Rengifo brought the Angels closer on the board again, hitting a home run to right field in the seventh inning.

The Padres again did not wait and with a two-run triple by Tatis Jr., who then scored for Cronenworth, added three scores in the bottom of the seventh.

Tatis Jr. placed the final score, with an undisputed RBI run, in the eighth inning.

Left-hander Blake Snell (5-7) pitched five shutout innings and struck out seven to win the game for the Padres.

BarrĂ­as (2-4) allowed four runs in five innings, striking out five, taking the loss for the Angels.

For the Padres, Bogaerts and Tatis Jr. had two runs scored and three produced each and Machado had one scored and one pushed.

On the Angels, Rengifo scored twice and drove in a run.
