Tampa beats the Pirates 6-5

Isaac Paredes hit a solo homer in the eighth inning and a two-out, two-run single in the ninth as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5 on Saturday.
Ji-Man Choi and Vidal Bruján reached with respective walks with two out before Jonathan Aranda pinch-hit a bases-loaded single off David Bednar (3-2).
Paredes later lined the opposite field, right field, to end the game.
The player from Hermosillo had brought the Rays closer to a run in the eighth with his 10th home run, the most on the team. All of those hits have come in his last 25 games.
Ralph Garza Jr. (1-2) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. This is the fourth straight game Tampa Bay has won by one run.
It was also the 11th time the game was decided by two or fewer runs, another Rays record.
For the Pirates, the Dominican Oneil Cruz 5-1. Venezuelan Diego Castillo 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI. Puerto Rican Michael Pérez 4-1 with a run scored.
For the Rays, Cubans Yandy Díaz 1-0 and Randy Arozarena 5-4 with a run scored and an RBI. The Dominicans Bruján 4-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Francisco Mejía 4-1. The Mexican Jonathan Aranda 1-1.
