The Taliban has sent a message to the people of Panjshir asking them to support the Taliban by removing miscreants from their area.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, head of the Taliban’s invitation and guidance commission, said in a recent message that the country’s new system would include representatives of all parties, including the Panjshir.
Amir Khan Mottaki said that at present there is no war anywhere in the country and people are living in peace, so the people of Panjshir also have the right to live in peace.
He said that talks were going on with the Panjshir Resistance Group for the last few days but no result was forthcoming.
Amir Khan Muttaqi said that those who did not put up any resistance in the big cities including Kabul should refrain from fighting even in the small region of Panjshir.
It should be noted that Panjshir is the only province out of 34 provinces of Afghanistan which is still out of the control of the Taliban.
Amrullah Saleh, the son of former Afghan jihadi commander Ahmad Shah Massoud and former vice president of the government, is currently in Panjshir, where he has refused to surrender to the Taliban.
The anti-Taliban group has thousands of fighters, led by Ahmed Massoud, who says they are ready for both dialogue and war with the Taliban.
According to reports, the resistance group also has a reasonable number of Afghan army officers and personnel who belong to the same area, while former army chief Hebatullah is also not from Go Panj Sher but is part of the local resistance group. He was appointed army chief in the last days of President Ashraf Ghani’s government.
