According to media reports, citizens of different districts of Afghanistan demonstrated for the national flag, a similar demonstration took place in Dzhalal-Abad, where the protesters removed the white flag of the Taliban and raised the Afghan flag.
According to media reports, the Taliban allegedly opened fire on protesting Afghans, causing a stampede among the protesters, while three people were killed and several more injured.
Video of the incident is going viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that the crowd is dispersing in the Pashtunistan Square of the city of Jalalabad as the sounds of bullets are heard at the busy traffic intersection.

In another viral video, dozens of protesters can be seen walking down a street waving Afghan flags and whistling in support.
Dzhalal-Abad is called the traditional center of Afghanistan’s Independence Day celebrations, which are held here on August 19 each year.
It should be remembered that the British government recognized Afghan independence by ending the Third Anglo-Afghan War in 1919.
