KABUL: Aerial firing and fireworks were seen in Kabul on Tuesday morning as the last US plane left Afghanistan as Taliban fighters continued to celebrate their victory.
According to Reuters, the Pentagon announced that the last US flight departed at the last minute on Monday night and now all US troops have left Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesman also announced on Twitter that the rest of the US troops left Kabul airport at 12 o’clock tonight and 20 years later our country got complete independence.
According to reports from various sources, 313 Taliban Badri Army personnel performed Sajdah-e-Shukr at Kabul Airport and also conducted aerial firing.
Earlier, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution at an emergency meeting on Monday urging the Taliban to stick to its promise that those leaving the country would have full freedom of movement.
However, the resolution did not mention a safe evacuation zone in Kabul, as French President Emmanuel Macron had said the previous day.
The resolution, adopted by Britain, the United States and France, passed the resolution by 13 votes, stating that the Security Council expects the safe and orderly evacuation of all Afghans and foreigners leaving the Taliban. Will let
