According to foreign media, the situation in Afghanistan is becoming more tense, 21 of the 34 provincial capitals have come under the control of the Afghan Taliban while the Taliban have begun to enter the federal capital, Kabul.
Confirming the entry of the Afghan Taliban into Kabul, the Afghan Interior Ministry said there was an exchange of fire between Afghan forces and the Taliban in the Afghan capital.
The Afghan Defense Ministry said government buildings in Kabul had been evacuated, while the United States had sent helicopters to the embassy to evacuate diplomatic personnel from Kabul.
Foreign media quoted Afghan officials as saying that the Taliban had entered Kalakan, Qarabagh and Paghman.

On the other hand, Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that they intend to enter Kabul peacefully, that they will not enter Kabul by force.
