Taekwondo has joined the international federations this Monday that will readmit Russian and Belarusian athletes in their competitions, although under a neutral flag.
The measure will come into force at the world championships to be held in Baku at the end of next May.
World Taekwondo, the international federation, will create a review committee in charge of studying whether the athletes who want to participate meet the conditions imposed by the IOC last Tuesday, when he recommended the readmission of Russians and Belarusians: that they have not actively supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine and that they do not belong to the army, among others.
Following this IOC recommendation, A trickle of announcements from federations that join the measure is expected in the coming days, as have already been done by the boxing and fencing federations.
