Sweden School Shooting Leaves 10 Dead in Örebro Tragedy Investigation

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday in a school for adults in Sweden, resulting in the death of a dozen people, including the alleged attacker. The prime minister described this event as the “worst mass shooting in history” for the country. This incident took place in Örebro, a town located about 200 kilometers west of Stockholm.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson held a press conference after the attack, stating that it is the worst mass shooting in Sweden’s history. He also mentioned that there are many questions to be answered and urged the population not to speculate about the attacker’s motivations. The head of the Örebro police, Roberto Eid Forest, reported that a dozen people died in the shooting on the Risbergska campus, an adult school, but did not specify the number of injured.

The police chief added that the attacker is not known to the police and has no links to any gang. He also stated that they believe there will be no more attacks. According to the TV4 television network, the alleged attacker was 35 years old, and the police searched his home in Örebro. The man had a license to carry weapons and had no criminal record.

The authorities have not released any information about the attacker’s profile or motivations. They also did not provide details about the identity or age of the deceased or whether they were students or teachers at the center. It is worth noting that attacks in schools are rare in Sweden, a member of the EU and NATO. However, in recent years, the country has experienced shootings and attacks linked to gang violence, resulting in a dozen deaths every year.
