This time, she’s given a befitting response to trolls who questioned why her husband, Fahad Ahmad, didn’t participate in Holi celebrations. A few social media users commented on Fahad’s absence from the Holi festivities, making unnecessary remarks about religion and festivals.
It all started when Swara shared a glimpse of her family’s Holi celebration on Instagram. In the pictures, she was seen having a blast with her husband Fahad and their little daughter, Rahiya. While Swara and Rahiya were covered in Holi colors, Fahad was not, as he was observing Roza for Ramzan.
However, it didn’t take long for trolls to come forward with their unnecessary comments. Some people asked why Fahad didn’t play Holi with colors. One user asked, “Why didn’t your husband apply colors?” Another one commented, “A question from a blind devotee: Why didn’t your husband apply colors?”
But Swara is never one to stay quiet on such matters. She gave a sharp response, shutting down the trolls instantly. She reshared the pictures on her Instagram story and wrote, “Happy Holi, everyone! Just a small reminder: we can celebrate and share our festivities without forcing others to participate.”
Swara and Fahad tied the knot in February 2023 under the Special Marriage Act and welcomed their daughter later that year. However, as a high-profile interfaith couple, they often find themselves at the receiving end of online trolling. Fahad, being a Samajwadi Party leader, and Swara, known for her outspoken nature, have had to face unwarranted trolling.
Despite the noise, the couple celebrated their wedding in style, with all the trimmings, from Haldi and Mehendi to a Qawwali night. Similarly, actress Sonakshi Sinha, who married Zaheer Iqbal in 2024, also had to shut down trolls who questioned why Zaheer was missing from her Holi celebrations. It seems that these celeb couples are not going to let the noise get in the way of their happiness and will continue to speak their minds whenever needed.
