Suunto, the well-known Finnish company for sports wearables, just dropped their latest outdoor smartwatch. It’s called the Vertical 2, and it looks ready for anything. They designed this gadget to handle rough conditions, perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors.

The Suunto Vertical 2 packs some serious upgrades. It has a new optical heart rate sensor for better wrist tracking. The screen is a bigger 1.5-inch AMOLED display, with sharp 466 × 466 pixels. Plus, a faster processor keeps everything running smoothly.

Beyond the basics, this watch has a built-in LED flashlight. You can adjust its brightness, and there’s a red light mode for night use. For safety, it includes an SOS signal and alert function. This could be a lifesaver in an emergency.
Battery life is a big deal for adventurers, and the Vertical 2 delivers. It can track your movements with dual-frequency GPS for a solid 65 hours. For everyday use as a smartwatch, it lasts up to 20 days. You also get free offline maps showing routes, elevation, pathways, and terrain details.
Climbers will appreciate the Climb Guidance feature. It shows your real-time elevation profile and slope data. It even warns you about descents. Another smart addition is Quick Start Navigation. This lets you change your route while still tracking your activity without missing a beat.

Suunto built the watch case tough. You can choose between durable stainless steel or titanium versions. Three buttons on the side make it easy to use, even when wearing gloves. It supports 115 different sports modes and offers training analysis. You also get weather alerts, sea level data, and sunrise/sunset times. The Suunto app helps you track health data, and over 300 partner services give even more sports information.

The Suunto Vertical 2 goes on sale October 15, 2025. You can grab one from suunto.com, Amazon, or US dealers.
The prices are set as follows:
