The high-profile death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has re-entered public discourse. This follows nearly five years after his passing.
The actor’s family lawyer is now formally questioning the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)’s closure report. The lawyer states the report is incomplete.
Varun Singh, representing Rajput’s family, alleges that the CBI filed an “incomplete and inconclusive report.” He made these comments to ANI.
Singh claims crucial documents remain withheld by the agency. This alleged withholding impedes any legal challenge to the CBI’s findings.
The CBI originally submitted its closure report in March 2025. This report had given a clean chit to actress Rhea Chakraborty and other individuals named in the initial FIR.
At the time, the agency stated there was no evidence to suggest Sushant Singh Rajput was held captive, threatened, or subjected to any criminal acts.
Advocate Singh countered that the report is incomplete because several “important details were not shared.”
He further noted that the Patna Court had previously issued six distinct orders. These directives specifically instructed the CBI to present all vital information related to the investigation.
