Survey shows that gamers would rather earn Bitcoin than NFTs

A recent survey shows that gamers would rather earn Bitcoin (BTC) in video games than NFTs.

Gamers from the US investigated

The study examined video gamers from the United States (US). Among other things, they were asked about their exposure to crypto and their feelings about blockchain gaming.

The survey found that approximately two-thirds (67%) of respondents would currently be more likely to play a free game than games that offer crypto rewards. Of the survey participants, 45% believe there are benefits to being able to trade game characters and items with other gamers, while 23% said it can have a negative impact. The remaining 32% gave no comment in this area.

Only small percentage want to earn NFTs

In addition, the survey found that approximately 27% of respondents are interested in earning Bitcoin in games, while only 5% are interested in earning NFTs. This simply means that more gamers are interested in getting BTC in Play-to-Earn (P2E) games than getting NFTs. Reportedly, 55% of those surveyed currently hold crypto.

According to Ben Cousens, Zeebedee’s chief strategy officer, one of the highlights of the research was that most gamers have a positive or neutral view of crypto rewards. Apart from this, the director noted that interest in Bitcoin was also high. Cousens explained that:

Despite most of the industry’s attention being focused on NFTs, we found that Bitcoin stands out as the most popular decentralized asset among gamers when compared to other cryptocurrencies, including NFTs.
