Surprise resignation: Ferro was left without a technical duo

The technical directors Favio Orsi and Sergio Gómez said goodbye to Ferro Carril Oeste this Monday through a message on social networks that surprised fans and the leadership itself, a week after the controversial elimination in the semifinals of the Reduced for the second promotion to the League Professional Soccer (LPF).

“We say goodbye grateful for the commitment, love, respect, illusion and desire that we share. Thank you for opening the doors of a wonderful club like Ferro. Thank you for accepting us and treating us as one of you,” wrote Orsi in your Twitter account.

The duo, which took over the leadership of the squad in July this year, had a signed contract until mid-2022 and the Ferro leadership discounted its continuity in the face of the good campaign carried out.

The “Verdolaga” was one step away from playing the final for the second promotion but was notoriously damaged by the referee Nicolás Lamolina with the sanction of a non-existent penalty against in the rematch with Quilmes (0-1).

“We came to this tournament with the sole objective of promoting. We put on the jersey and tried to the end. We gave the floor and we did so. With our weapons and with the tireless encouragement of all,” Orsi acknowledged.

“We fervently wish that this institution returns to where we are convinced it deserves. Because of its history, its present and each of the fans who breathe through and for Oeste. Thanks to this group of fantastic players who gave themselves to the maximum with emotional intensity that we set out to live this process that we had to lead. Thanks to the leadership and the employees for valuing and respecting our work, “he continued.

“They showed us from the stands and in each game that they felt represented on the pitch by this team. It is an immense and indelible privilege that will be kept forever. May Ferro continue to be one. They infected us with the sense of belonging and -together – We transform it into a flag. With our hearts in our hands and our pride on the surface, “he concluded.
