Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave the last surprise of his extraordinary career. A couple of days ago he made clear his intention to continue playing for Milan, this Saturday he announced his goodbye to the Rossoneri and the offer from Monza on his table and this Sunday, in the end, the striker has decided that after 866 games and 511 goals, the time has come to hang up his boots.
The 41-year-old striker, through tears, spoke like this before the San Siro tifosi: “How many emotions I experienced in this stadium. The first time I arrived at Milan you gave me happiness, the second time I received love. I want to thank my family for their patience and my second family, the footballers”.
Ibra then said goodbye to the milanisti and football: “Thank you, typhosi. You welcomed me with open arms, you made me feel at home, I will be a milanista for life. The time has come to say goodbye to football, not just to you. Forza Milan and arrivederci”.
Malmö, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG, Manchester United, LA Galaxy and again Milan, in addition to 122 games (and 62 goals) defending the colors of Sweden: an extraordinary career, one of the best in the history of football, ended after a season without prominence (four appearances and one goal). Ibra had to surrender due to injuries: not even he could with time.
