Mandira Kapoor Smith says Sanjay’s third wife, Priya Sachdev, caused his marriage to Karisma to fail. This revelation comes after Sanjay Kapoor’s sudden death this past June. His passing led to disputes over property and family matters. Mandira decided to clear the air, sharing details about her brother’s past relationships. She also stood up for Karisma.
Karisma Kapoor, a well-known actress, and businessman Sanjay Kapoor ended their marriage long ago. But these new insights are quite surprising. Mandira told Vicky Lalwani in an interview that she saw closeness growing between Sanjay and Priya much earlier. At that time, Karisma and Sanjay were in a good place. They had two children together. Sanjay was very protective and emotional about his kids. Mandira feels Priya’s arrival changed everything.
She stated her feelings clearly. “It is wrong to create problems in someone’s family,” Mandira explained. “To ruin the life of a woman who just had a baby and break her marriage can never be right. Karisma did not deserve that.” Mandira expressed strong disapproval of such actions.
Sanjay’s family never approved of his relationship with Priya. Mandira shared that their father also strongly disagreed. He felt this new relationship was not right and should not continue. Mandira and her sister even skipped Sanjay and Priya’s wedding in 2017. “We were firm about not supporting this relationship,” Mandira said. “Our father made it clear that this marriage would bring more trouble to the family.”

Sanjay was playing when he accidentally swallowed a bee. The bee sting caused a severe allergic reaction. This led to a heart attack. He was only 53 years old.
Sanjay Kapoor leaves behind his third wife, Priya Sachdev, and their son, Azarius Kapoor, who was born in 2018. He also has two children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor, which lasted from 2003 to 2016. Their names are Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Kapoor.
