Celebrity health scares often grab headlines, but Suki Waterhouse’s recent reveal about her hospital stay came with a surprising twist. The 33-year-old actress and singer recently shared an update on her health. She explained her silence on social media with a dash of humor.
On Monday, July 14, Waterhouse took to X (formerly Twitter). She posted a lighthearted message. "‘Suki, you don’t tweet anymore.’ Did you ever consider that six months ago I wore pants so tight they caused a hernia and I’ve been too afraid to tell you?" she quipped. She included a selfie from her hospital bed. Another photo showed her performing in the very tight pants she mentioned.
In the hospital selfie, Waterhouse looks a bit puzzled while wearing a white gown. Her blonde hair appears messy but still stylish. A blue vaporizer rests on her chest.
Fans quickly reacted to her candid post. One X user commented on the vaporizer, saying, "Vaping in the hospital is demonic." Waterhouse simply agreed, replying, "So true." Another person offered support, writing, "I mean, at least you gave your best and I think that’s the point."

It’s been a busy stretch for Waterhouse. Last year, she released her second album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. She also performed as an opening act for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Those shows happened at Wembley Stadium in London, the city where Waterhouse was born and grew up. Her album tour ran from September through December of 2024.
A New Chapter: Motherhood and Family Life
Waterhouse also welcomed her first child in March of last year. She shares the baby girl with her fiancé, actor Robert Pattinson. The couple has chosen to keep their daughter’s name private. Months later, Waterhouse and their little one graced the August 2024 cover of Vogue.
Pattinson, 39, shared his own thoughts on fatherhood in a Vogue interview. The Twilight star spoke in January about his unexpected love for his daughter’s unique scent. "I remember people used to say, ‘Don’t you like the smell of babies?’, but I thought they just smelled like baby powder," Pattinson recalled. "But then I had a daughter and I thought, ‘My baby smells amazing.’ There’s something there, I can identify her. She doesn’t smell like other babies."
Waterhouse praised Pattinson’s parenting skills when she attended the MTV Video Music Awards 2024 in New York. "He’s the best!" she said last September. She also noted that their daughter’s appearance often changes. "I don’t know. It’s always changing," Waterhouse added. "She has a very special sweetness. It’s very beautiful to see."
Waterhouse also shared a fun detail about Pattinson. He actually enjoys changing their daughter’s diapers. "He finds it fun," she revealed. "The surprise and all that."
