Subaru finally unveils its first electric car, the Solterra SUV

Subaru is a world renowned car manufacturer. And at a time when many competitors already have several all-electric solutions, Subaru has now unveiled its first vehicle with these features.

It will be called Subaru Solterra, and it promises to reach Europe, the United States and Canada on a date to be defined in 2022. It is an SUV, and will use the shared platform between Toyota and Subaru itself.

According to The Verge, this vehicle will hit the market in versions with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Users will have at their disposal a 150kW motor (equivalent to 201 hp), with front-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive, they will have two 80kW motors with a total of 214 hp (160kW)

Subaru Solterra promises a range of up to 530 km

In any case, users will have a 71.4 kWh battery. Based on the WLTC test cycles, Subaru promises a range of 530 km in the front-wheel drive version. The all-wheel drive version promises a range of 460 km.

Depending on the brand, the Subaru Solterra supports fast charging of up to 150 kW. The brand did not disclose how long it will take to load. However, based on the Toyota BZ4X, The Verge claims that it can take around 30 minutes to charge 80%.
