Students travel to Chile to start their journey in the Copa Libertadores 2022

The Estudiantes de La Plata squad did not have a break this Sunday after achieving the third consecutive victory in the Professional League Cup, they will train again this Monday and, in the afternoon, they will travel to Chile, where on Wednesday they will play the first leg of phase 2 of the Copa Libertadores against Audax Italiano at the “El Teniente” stadium in Rancagua.

This Monday there will be tests and after the results and training, coach Ricardo Zielinski will announce the list of players who will travel at 5:30 p.m. Once in Santiago they will stay at the Intercontinental Hotel, there they will carry out 12 hours of mandatory isolation to comply with Chilean laws, and on Tuesday afternoon they will train at the Colo Colo sports field.

On Wednesday morning they will undertake the trip to Rancagua and will stay at the O’Higgins club hotel while waiting for the time of the game, which will be at 9:30 p.m. Ex-soccer players such as Marcos Conigliaro and Daniel Romeo will be part of the delegation, since the club’s idea is that a protagonist from the history of Estudiantes always travels.

Zielinski has not yet defined the starters but it would be the same base that has been playing and the doubts are whether the Paraguayan Jorge Morel, expelled against Huracán, will be among the 11 again and if he plays with Gustavo Del Prete, Mauro Boselli and Leandro Díaz together, or someone like Diaz had yesterday goes to the bank.

Audax did not start well in the Chilean tournament and it was only this Saturday that he got his first point when he equalized against Colo Colo 1-1, since in the two initial dates he had lost 2-1 in both matches.

Students will play the Libertadores again after being absent in the last editions. His last participation was in 2018 when he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Gremio de Porto Alegre.
