Strong earthquake again in Turkey

Strong earthquake tremors have once again been felt in Turkey, which has spread panic among people.

According to international media reports, at least one person was killed and dozens injured as a result of a 5.6 magnitude earthquake in the eastern part of Turkey, while some damaged buildings collapsed.

Monday’s earthquake was the latest major shock to hit southern Turkey as the region was already recovering from the powerful quake.

The Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) said the epicenter of the latest earthquake was in the town of Yesilivort in Malatya province. He added that one person was killed when a factory collapsed in Kahramanmaras, the epicenter of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit the area in February.

Mehmet Sinar, mayor of Yesilivort, said on television that several buildings collapsed in the town, including a four-story building where a father and daughter were trapped. Sinar said that the men had entered the damaged building to collect goods.

AFAD said 32 people were rescued in Malatya after the latest earthquake.
