Stranger Things Stars Reunite at Premiere; Director Denies Harassment Claims

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour appeared together at the season five premiere of Stranger Things, a public event set against the backdrop of recent harassment allegations involving the two stars. The actors posed for photographs with their castmates on Thursday, November 6.

An unnamed crisis public relations executive commented on the situation to Variety on Friday, November 7. The executive suggested that such public appearances aim "not to make things worse," hinting at a damage control strategy following the accusations.

Brown, 21, and Harbour, 50, were seen embracing upon their arrival at the red-carpet event. They later joined the rest of the Netflix cast for group photos.

Their reunion at the premiere follows reports of an alleged harassment investigation on set. Variety and The Daily Mail previously reported that Brown filed a complaint during the filming of the fifth season. The complaint accused Harbour of workplace harassment.

Neither Brown, Harbour, nor Netflix have responded to requests for comment regarding these allegations.

During the premiere, both actors spoke positively about their professional bond. Brown plays Eleven, the adopted daughter of Harbour’s character, Jim Hopper, in the series.

Brown told Extra that reuniting with Harbour for the new season was "incredible." She stated, "We are very lucky to have each other." Brown added that the show "means a lot to both of us and everyone here," noting it has spanned "the last 10 years of our lives."

Harbour, in turn, expressed his pride in working alongside Brown over the years to Entertainment Tonight. "I adore her, and I’m proud to see how everyone has grown and become great artists," he said. He described the project as "very special," highlighting their deep connection.

Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy, 57, also addressed and denied the harassment accusations on the red carpet Thursday. He told The Hollywood Reporter that the job involves "creating a respectful work environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe."

Levy affirmed, "We did everything to achieve that environment, and we are proud to have achieved it." He suggested that the reports about Brown’s claims were "extremely inaccurate."

He further stated, "There’s a lot of noise about it, but the truth is, we see this team and this cast as a family." Levy concluded, "We treat each other with respect, and that has always been the foundation."

Prior to these recent allegations, both Brown and Harbour had spoken about their positive filming experiences in separate interviews. Harbour told Esquire UK earlier this month about the cast, "They’re pretty good kids." He emphasized the importance of passion for storytelling and art in his career.

Brown previously told Empire that Harbour "always took care of me" since the first season of the show. She likened their dynamic to that of a daughter or younger sister constantly bothering him, which she felt reflected their characters’ relationship onscreen.

The fifth season of Stranger Things is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, November 26.
