Storm in California causes deaths, floods and power outages

At least one person dies and hundreds of thousands of people no longer have electricity heavy storm that large parts of the state were flooded this Monday Californiain the west of UNITED STATES, which forced authorities to declare a state of emergency.

The storm, with gusts of 60 miles per hour or more, is caused by an “atmospheric river phenomenon” called the “Pineapple Express,” a vast rain corridor that converts water vapor stored in the tropics around Hawaii.

The National Weather Service (NWS), which called the emergency “the biggest storm of the season,” reported that much more rain was expected and warned of “life-threatening flash flooding.”
