Incident in Nuevo Uruguay Neighborhood
A recent disturbance in the Nuevo Uruguay neighborhood, located in the western part of Salto, prompted a police response to restore order.
Initial Response and Injuries
Upon arrival, officers found multiple individuals, including one person on the ground with a stab wound. The police provided immediate assistance and attempted to transport the injured person to the hospital.
However, while trying to lift the injured person into the police vehicle, the officers were met with a barrage of stones thrown at the vehicle and themselves. Two officers sustained head and arm injuries, resulting in significant bleeding.
Police Operation and Investigation
In response to the violent incident, the police launched a large-scale operation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Unfortunately, the individuals responsible for the vandalism remain at large.
Current Status of the Injured Person
The person who suffered the stab wound is currently receiving treatment at the Salto hospital and is recovering favorably. However, they have stated that they are unable to identify their attacker.
