Stellantis dominated Portugal’s automotive market in October 2025, securing a quarter of all vehicle sales and demonstrating robust growth across its diverse brand portfolio, including electric vehicles.
The automotive group sold 4,502 vehicles in October, achieving a 24% market share. For the first ten months of 2025, Stellantis reached 53,311 units sold, accounting for 25% of the total market and marking a 6% increase in sales.
This strong performance extended to specific segments. Stellantis led both the passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle categories, selling 3,347 passenger units for a 20.7% share and 1,155 light commercial units for a significant 46% share in October.
The company also led Portugal’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) market in October, with 917 BEV units sold across passenger and light commercial segments, capturing an 18.7% share. Year-to-date, Stellantis recorded 8,793 BEV sales, representing a 20% market share and a substantial 57% growth, more than double the overall market’s expansion.
Peugeot, a Stellantis brand, was the best-selling brand in Portugal in October and maintained its leadership across all categories for the year. Peugeot sold 2,046 vehicles in October, holding a 10.9% market share, contributing to its year-to-date total of 23,594 units and an 11.1% share.
The Peugeot SUV 2008 remains Portugal’s top-selling model, with 6,674 units sold so far this year. The Peugeot Partner, produced in Mangualde, was again the best-selling van in October, solidifying its status as a preferred commercial vehicle among Portuguese professionals with 3,783 units registered from January to October 2025.
Stellantis also introduced its newer brand, Leapmotor, to Portugal in April. Leapmotor quickly rose to become the third best-selling Chinese New Energy brand in October, registering 89 units from its T03, C10, and C10 REEV range, with the SUV B10 model now joining the lineup. The brand has sold 207 units cumulatively.
Several other Stellantis brands experienced growth significantly above the market average for passenger vehicles, which stood at 5.4%. Jeep saw a 52.9% increase in October sales with 182 units, while FIAT grew by 32.7% (461 units). Citroën sales rose by 32.5% (843 units), Opel by 28.3% (770 units), Alfa Romeo by 21.6% (45 units), and Maserati by 50.2% (3 units).
Year-to-date, Jeep’s sales surged by 40.1% to 2,238 units, Opel by 17.1% to 8,921 units, Alfa Romeo by 36.6% to 593 units, and Maserati by 32.0% to 33 units. These gains reflect the positive impact of renewed product ranges and new competitive models.
In the quadricycle segment, the Citroën Ami registered 34 new units in October, bringing its year-to-date total to 469 units and maintaining a leading 39.8% market share.
