No one was really expecting it and yet it is the series that should arrive on the streaming platform fastest. Disney + after Kenobi in spring 2022 and The Book of Boba Fett which will arrive at the very end of the year. After the enormous success of The Mandalorian which followed the critical flop of postology Skywalker and the commercial fiasco of the spin-off Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney wished to capitalize on an extended universe Star wars through series for Disney +. Therefore, after Kenobi and Andor, a female series led by Leslye Headland will be planned, as well as a new film headed by Taika Waititi.
Andor was part of the long-standing projects of Disney and Lucasfilm. The series had even started its pre-production in March 2020 before ending due to the covid-19 pandemic which had interrupted all filming at the time. Now practically over, the series has revealed some crisp information to us and in particular the fact that many secondary characters of the Star Wars universe will give the replica in Andor. The show will resume the story of the rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), shortly before the events of the film Rogue One of Gareth Edwards (2016).
Via the journalist Clayton sandell on Twitter, Christine mccarthy, Chief Financial Officer of Disney, announced that Andor will be released on the platform for the summer of 2022 without giving a concrete date. A positioning that leaves the field open to Kenobi for spring 2022 and The Mandalorian season 3 for the fall of the same year. The Book of Boba Fett filling the box up to Kenobi, we will therefore have series Star wars for most of 2022.
