UD Almería Player Iddrisu Baba Undergoes Successful Surgery
Iddrisu Baba, a player for UD Almería, has undergone successful surgery to repair a partial tear in the internal lateral ligament of his left knee. The injury occurred on November 26 during a postponed match against Córdoba CF.
Although the surgery was successful, Baba had to wait until he recovered from another ailment in the same joint before undergoing the operation. Unfortunately, this means that Baba’s season has come to an end.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Claudio Vázquez, a doctor for the Spanish soccer team, at the Vithas Virgen del Mar hospital in Almería. Dr. Vázquez has also operated on other notable players, including Gui Guedes, who suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal.
The operation lasted almost two hours, and Baba is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon. He will then begin his recovery at home.
It’s worth noting that Baba’s injury occurred after a particularly nasty fall during the match against Córdoba. Despite initial attempts to continue playing, Baba was eventually forced to leave the game due to the severity of his injury.
A Grade 2 Sprain and Partial Tear
Initially, Baba was diagnosed with a grade 2 sprain in the internal lateral ligament of his left knee. However, further testing revealed a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament, which required surgery.
Before undergoing surgery, Baba had to recover from the sprain. After a successful operation on January 3, Baba is now on the road to recovery.
