Jeremiah St. Juste, a defender with Sporting, is about to start a new chapter. The Dutch center-back was weighing a move to Osasuna. Our newsroom had already reported on Monday that a final decision was coming. Now, sources confirm that the deal is almost done.
Just hours ago, the man wearing jersey number 3 gave his nod to the Spanish La Liga club. The agreement between the two teams is largely in place. Now, it is mostly about sorting out the smaller points of the transfer.
Sporting and Osasuna have pretty much agreed on everything for St. Juste’s departure. The deal is expected to be worth around 4 million euros. This amount includes various performance goals. St. Juste had promised Osasuna an answer by Wednesday. He made his choice even earlier than that deadline. The defender accepted the plan laid out by the club from Pamplona. He is now looking at all the details for his contract with Osasuna, aiming to make everything official very soon.
Before making his decision, the 28-year-old visited Osasuna’s training grounds. He also explored the city of Pamplona. His brothers, Yoshua and Benjamin, who are also his agents, were already there. St. Juste thought hard about the good and bad points of this new adventure. His contract with Sporting is entering its last year. He knows he would likely not play much under Sporting coach Rui Borges. Moving to Osasuna seems like the clear path forward.
Injuries have been tough on St. Juste. Since the summer of 2022, he has faced more than ten different injury setbacks while with Sporting. Because of this, a fresh start feels like a good idea for him.
Sporting signed St. Juste from Mainz for 9.5 million euros. That fee could have gone up to 12 million euros if certain goals were met. The 28-year-old Dutch defender played 80 games for Sporting. However, he has not played in any official match this season, 2025/26, for the champions.
