St. Jude Foundation fundraising marathon celebrated

With the participation of more than 2,000 collaborators and pensioners of the Banreservas family, they ran five and up to ten kilometers in favor of children with cancer from the St. Jude Foundation, as part of the actions led by the Volunteering of the bank in the month celebrating its 80th anniversary.

The competition was led by the general administrator of the Reserve Bank, Samuel Pereyra, and the president of the Volunteering, Noelia García de Pereyra, in the Mirador Sur park.

“With our enthusiastic participation we will make health possible for dozens of children and young people of that entity, and we will be with them and their families in the recovery process,” said García de Pereyra.

And he added: “Athletes, volunteers and special guests will undertake this journey together with energy and courage, aware that our sportsmanship contributes to a worthy and noble cause, for the benefit of our country.”

The participants enrolled in three modalities and started from kilometer zero, near Luperón Avenue. Some ran five kilometers; others ten, and one group chose to walk, any of those distances.

The first race was carried out by the Banreservas Volunteering in 2018, with the five-kilometer modality in favor of the "I Can Also Foundation", who work with children and young people with disabilities.
