Sri Lanka Cricket Board broke all earnings records in 2022. The board earned a total of Rs 6,300 crore in 2022. This is the highest annual revenue ever earned by Sri Lanka Cricket. In a statement from the board, it was said: “The latest revenue growth has come in four main ways. This includes international cricket, domestic cricket, sponsorship contract and ICC annual membership.

It was also reported on Thursday that Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe appointed a 10-member committee to prepare a new constitution for the SLC. The panel will be headed by retired Supreme Court Justice KT Chithrasiri. The committee is made up of various legal luminaries and former domestic cricketers including Charith Senanayake and Farveez Maharoof. Ranasinghe said that he has sought guidance and expert advice from the ICC on this. The new constitution will be ready in the next two months.

SLC elections for officeholders have always been mired in controversy, as concerns have been raised about the large number of inflated votes, leading to allegations of malpractice such as vote-buying in favor of vested interests.
