Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 9 wickets in last ODI series 2-1

In the last match of the 3 match ODI series being played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, Lanka won by 9 wickets. With this, the Sri Lankan team also won the series 2-1. In the last match, there was a great bowling performance from Sri Lanka. The Afghanistan team, while batting first, was reduced to scoring just 116 runs.

While chasing down the Sri Lankan goal, opening batsmen Dimuth Karunaratne and Pathum Nishanka saw innings of half a century. The Afghanistan team could bat for just 22.2 overs in this match. Only 5 batters on the team were able to cross double figures.

For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi scored the highest innings of 23 runs in this match. In the Sri Lankan bowling, Dushmanta Chameera picked up 4 wickets, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 3 wickets, while Lahiru Kumara picked up 2 wickets and Mahesh Tikshna picked up 1 wicket.

The Sri Lankan team had to face 6 wicket defeat against Afghanistan in the first match of this ODI series. Following this, Lanka came back brilliantly in the second ODI and won by 132 runs and leveled the series at 1-1. Now in the last ODI, Sri Lanka won the series 2-1 by winning by 9 wickets.

Now the Sri Lankan team will leave directly for Zimbabwe. Where the team has to participate in the qualifiers for the ODI World Cup which will take place in India later this year. From this qualifier, 2 teams will earn a place in the main tournament. The selection of Afghanistan has already confirmed his place directly.
