Sanju Samson has been in the news recently due to a dispute with the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). Now, former cricketer S Sreesanth has entered the matter. In fact, Sanju Samson did not get a chance to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, due to which he had to lose his chance in the Champions Trophy Squad. In this entire controversy, Sreesanth gave a statement in support of Samson, which seems to be heavy on him.
Disagreement Between KCA and Sreesanth Over Sanju Samson
On a TV show, S Sreesanth questioned KCA’s decision not to include Samson in the domestic season. In response, KCA has sent a show cause notice to Sreesanth. The Kerala Cricket Association says that this notice has been sent to Sreesanth not because he supported Sanju Samson, but because he made a wrong statement and insulted the association. Sreesanth, who is also a co-owner of Kollam Sellers in the Cricket League of Kerala, has violated the contract conditions by giving this statement.
KCA’s Response to Sreesanth
The Kerala Cricket Association even reminded S Sreesanth of the spot-fixing scandal. KCA said that they have always supported their players, even when Sreesanth was in jail, which can be seen as a comment targeting Sreesanth. This response from KCA highlights the tension between the association and Sreesanth.
S Sreesanth’s Statement
S Sreesanth said that the Kerala Cricket Association has not prepared any big player after Sanju Samson. He stated, “Only one player is playing at the international level, let’s all support him. KCA has not prepared any international-level player after Sanju. We have many good players like Sachin, Vishnu Vinod, but KCA is not trying to move them forward.” This statement from Sreesanth reflects his concerns about the development of cricket players in Kerala and the role of KCA in supporting them.
