This is because the CEO of Spotify recently confirmed that the availability of HiFi audio is delayed. Daniel Ek’s statements fell like a bucket of cold water on the millions of users of his service.
High fidelity audio on Spotify delayed indefinitely
It is important to note that Spotify’s initial promise for the availability of high-quality audio pointed to November 2021. A launch that should take place in a staggered manner, but no market has yet had access to this functionality.
Now, the head of the music streaming platform confirms the delay in the launch of HiFi audio. Daniel Ek also reveals that it is an indefinite postponement, that is, without an expected date to reach users.
“We know that HiFi-quality audio is important to you. We feel the same way and are excited to bring a Spotify HiFi experience to Premium users in the future. moment to share.”
Also according to Daniel Ek, this postponement will be related to licensing issues. Despite these obstacles, Spotify continues to dialogue with its partners to launch this option as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, this delay only exacerbates Spotify’s lag in providing high-quality audio. The main rival platforms of the Swedish service already offer their users this option.
One of the last to add this option was Apple with the launch of Audio Lossless last May. It should also be noted that this option is given to all Apple Music subscribers at no additional cost.
As far as Spotify is concerned, the platform will make HiFi audio available to all subscribers of its premium plan. It will therefore be one more incentive for the millions of users of this platform to opt for its payment method.
