Sporting CP announced Friday the signing of Liv Dinis, a 21-year-old Swedish international runner.
Dinis, who has a Portuguese father, will strengthen the club’s athletics squad across middle and long-distance events.
She is a regular competitor for the Swedish National Team in major international events, having participated at both U23 and senior levels. She is set to compete in the upcoming European Cross Country Championships for national teams.
Her primary track specialty is the 1500 meters, but her range extends up to 10,000 meters.
Dinis may be available to compete for Sporting as early as Sunday’s National Cross Country Championships in Lagoa.
“I am very content and happy for this new stage in my life,” Dinis told the club’s official website. “I really like everything at Sporting; everyone is very good and helps me a lot with the language.”
She added, “I want to score well for the team and achieve a good time” at the upcoming competition.
