A new chapter is opening for promising midfielder Alexandre Brito. The 20-year-old is leaving Sporting on loan. His destination is Pafos, the champions of Cyprus.
Brito wasn’t in coach Rui Borges’ plans for the upcoming season. This meant the young talent needed to find a new place to play. He sought out a club where he could get valuable game time. Pafos stepped up as the perfect solution.
The Cypriot club made the news official on Sunday. They welcomed Brito with open arms. They shared their excitement on social media. “We are excited to welcome Alexandre to Pafos,” the club stated. They also added, “We look forward to his growth and contribution next season.”
This isn’t the first time Sporting has sent players to Pafos. Last season, Rafael Pontelo and Tanlongo also joined the Cypriot side on loan. Those players helped Pafos secure their championship title. It seems to be a successful pathway for young Sporting players seeking experience. Brito will now look to follow in their footsteps and make his own mark.
