Sporting CP Handball Star Sets Sights on Champions League Title

The season’s been a wild ride. Back-to-back championships, a strong run in the Champions League, and a fourth-place finish in the World Cup. It’s not a bad year, but it’s been tough. The Champions League experience? That was a whole new level. Games are intense, travel is crazy, and prep is key. You prep well, you win big. You don’t, you lose big.

We didn’t expect it to be this hard, but it’s been a great season so far. We’re still chasing that one last title, though. Only one team has ever done back-to-back triplets, and we want to be the second. Winning that trophy, beating FC Porto, and taking seven titles in a row in Portugal? That’s the dream.

The Champions League was a blast. We packed the JoĆ£o Rocha, and people were watching from everywhere. Too bad we couldn’t make it to Cologne, but Nantes was a tough opponent. They outmatured us, and we learned a lot from that loss. Other teams work hard every year and don’t make it, so we gotta be happy with what we’ve got. But it’s fuel for the fire, and we’re gonna keep pushing to make it back to the final four.

The title party in Madeira was cool, but the real celebration’s gonna be at JoĆ£o Rocha. That’s our home turf, and we want to lift that trophy with our fans. They’ve been with us every step of the way, and we couldn’t have done it without them.

The fans are everything to us. They’re like an extra player on the field. They show up, cheer us on, and even when we lose, they stick around to support us. We feel their energy, and it pushes us to be better.

Looking ahead, I want to stay here and win that one last title – the Champions League. We’ve dominated in Portugal, but it’s time to take it to the next level. If I had to choose somewhere else to play, maybe France? The crowds are amazing, and the atmosphere’s electric. Or maybe Germany, but the gray skies might get to me!

My goal’s to make a lasting impact on the sport, to be remembered as someone who helped shape the game. I want Portugal to win a medal, to make a mark on the world stage. It won’t be easy, but that’s what drives me. Winning the Champions League with Sporting, alongside my dad and brother, that’s the dream.
