Sporting Club’s roller hockey coach Edo Bosch is in mourning following the death of his father, a former player, a personal tragedy that has seen him step back from some public duties.
The Lisbon-based club publicly extended its condolences and support to Bosch and his family on social media. “Always side by side. Much strength in this most difficult moment, Edo Bosch and Xano Edo,” the club posted.
Bosch’s father, who was also a former roller hockey player, passed away last Thursday. This coincided with a Champions League match where Sporting faced Bassano.
The coach was absent from a November 15 game against HC Turquel. He had traveled to Barcelona to be with his family at that time.
Bosch was present at last Thursday’s Champions League match. However, he did not participate in the post-game flash interview, reportedly due to his bereavement.
Xano Edo, a goalkeeper for the Sporting roller hockey team, is also mourning the loss of his grandfather.
