Spider-Man: No Way Home: Doctor Strange and Spider-Man Will Be In Conflict

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, we will have the opportunity to see Peter Parker start a relationship with a new mentor. After the disappearance of Tony stark in Avengers: Endgame, Peter thought he had found a new ally in the person of Quentin Beck / Mysterio in the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. The latter was ultimately revealed to be a former deposed collaborator of Tony stark who manipulated the young man only with the aim of recovering the EDITH glasses allowing the control of a large army of Stark drones. Mysterio is, moreover, directly at the origin of the narration of No Way Home by having publicly revealed the secret identity of Spiderman.

In the third film of the franchise under Jon watts, Peter will find help from the Doctor Strange, who will perform a spell to allow him to get out of the crisis he is going through. However, nothing will go as planned and given the presence ofAlfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) and Jamie Foxx (Electro), Spider-Man will be able to rub shoulders for the first time with the multiverse in live-action.

In the first trailer, Parker and Strange appear to be in open conflict after the Sorcerer’s spell. Many images put us in our ears in this direction (the spell that Strange performs on Peter to separate his mind and body, the scene with the train cars as well as the different phrases including “Be careful what you want Parker”). By chatting with Total Movies, Tom holland validated that Strange would not be the new mentor of Peter Parker but that the two may well be cold …

“It’s a very different relationship [de Tony Stark et Peter Parker]. I wouldn’t consider Doctor Strange a mentor in this movie – it’s more like a colleague. At this point in the movies, Spider-Man has established himself as a pretty powerful and serious Avenger. Doctor Strange sees this in him, and treats him as an equal […] throughout the film, their relationship breaks down. And rather than becoming co-workers, they don’t become enemies, but they’re definitely not friends. “

Their relationship could therefore experience different upheavals before (maybe?) Enjoying a happy ending. However, we will know all this in a second trailer or during the expected release of the film, on December 17th.
