Miles Morales didn’t really hide his attraction to Gwen Stacy when they first met in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It took a little longer for Gwen to feel some reciprocity. However, not even the multiverse will be big enough to separate this duo. In the latest issue of Empire, the creative team behind the sequel confirmed that Miles and Gwen’s love story will have more time to develop.
“The danger with a sequel is going bigger for the sake of going bigger,” producer Amy Pascal said. “This film is a love story between Miles and Gwen”.
Furthermore, the article reveals that Miles Morales will have a real strong rival to win Gwen’s heart: hobie Browna.k.a Spider Punk.
“There’s jealousy in there,” says co-director Kemp Powers. “When Miles finds Gwen, she’s not wearing her ballet flats, but Converse Chuck Taylors, which Spider-Punk gave her. Miles is starting to wonder how close these two are.
“With our films, it’s a bit like what the Daniels did in Everything Everywhere All At Once,” adds Christopher Miller, co-writer and executive producer. “You can have all the spectacle, action and visual craziness, but you have to focus on an emotional journey that you feel deep in your heart. »
Across the Spider-Verse will be released on May 31 in French cinemas.
