Spears Family Reunion: Britney’s Sons, Jamie Lynn’s Daughters in Rare Photo

A sweet family reunion recently unfolded, bringing together the children of pop icon Britney Spears and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears. This tender get-together happened at Maddie’s high school senior year softball game.

Maddie, who is Jamie Lynn’s eldest daughter, shared photos from the special "Senior Year" night on Instagram this past Wednesday, September 17. The pictures showed Maddie with her high school softball teammates. She was wearing her uniform and had her right arm in a sling. Earlier this year, Maddie broke a labrum in her shoulder.

Beyond her friends, Maddie also had her family by her side. She smiled in a touching photo on the field with her mother, Jamie Lynn; her stepfather, Jamie Watson; and her 7-year-old sister, Ivey.

What made the night even more special was the presence of her cousins. Maddie and Ivey posed for a family photo with Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18, Britney Spears’ sons.

Jamie Lynn, 34, welcomed Maddie in December 2007 with her ex-partner, Casey Aldridge. The Sweet Magnolias actress later married Jamie Watson in March 2014. Their daughter, Ivey, was born in April 2018.

Britney Spears, 43, shares Preston and Jayden with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. The boys had grown distant from their mother after her conservatorship officially ended in 2021.

After skipping Britney’s wedding to her now ex-husband Sam Asghari the following year, Preston and Jayden moved to Hawaii with their father. Britney openly shared her feelings about this time on Instagram in August. She wrote, “We are such fragile and human people. The hardest years of my life were when my two sons left those three years… I couldn’t call or write and I remember, in shock, my secret to surviving was denial and a lot of tears.”

Despite years apart, Britney’s bond with her sons has been getting stronger. According to reports from Us Weekly, Jayden reached out to his mother late last year, after a long period of little contact. A source told Us Weekly earlier this month that Britney and her sons are “healing together.” The source added, “The boys are maturing and want their mom in their lives. Britney is very happy about that. She is very grateful to have them in her life. She feels complete again.”

Britney has also seen ups and downs with her sister Jamie Lynn. The sisters had a public dispute after Jamie Lynn released her memoir, Things I Should Have Said, in 2022. This came a year before Britney published her own book, The Woman in Me. However, a second source told Us Weekly last month that the sisters have been working to mend their relationship. The source said in August, “Britney and Jamie Lynn are better and plan to meet soon. The girls decided to keep their relationship issues out of the public eye. They FaceTime every few weeks, and Jamie Lynn plans to visit Britney next month in Los Angeles.”
