Spain’s Online Shopping Habits Revealed: AliExpress Releases Consumer Insights Report
A recent survey commissioned by AliExpress, a leading international online sales marketplace, provides valuable insights into the buying habits and trends of consumers in Spain over the past three months.
Top Categories for Online Purchases
The report highlights that clothing and footwear items (84%) topped the list of online purchases, followed by beauty and health items (79%), food and drink (78%), and sports and entertainment (73%).
Age Groups and Average Spending
The survey found that people between 35 and 45 years old spent the most online, with an average purchase of €595. Those between 25 and 34 years old spent an average of €562, and individuals between 45 and 54 years old spent an average of €529.
Online Shopping Boosts Sports Practice
For 73% of respondents, the convenience and accessibility of online shopping has improved their ability to participate in various sports, including football, hiking, swimming, athletics, and cycling.
The Influence of Sporting Events
The summer filled with sporting events in Europe motivated 71.6% of respondents to try new sports or fitness activities, demonstrating the significant impact major sporting events have on personal fitness decisions.
Regional Online Shopping Trends
Cantabria, Extremadura, and Galicia were the regions with the highest online purchasing rates, with each exceeding the national average of ten items purchased online over the past three months.
Preferred Purchasing Channels
Marketplaces remain the favorite online purchasing channel for more than 71% of Spaniards. AliExpress was the most popular platform, with 78.40% of respondents having bought from the site at some point and 48.85% making regular purchases. The brand’s website was the second-most popular channel, followed by the brand’s app.
