Empowering Social Change through Entrepreneurship

A groundbreaking event, the Impact Social Cup, recently took place, celebrating innovative business projects that contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Among the eight finalists, four standout projects were recognized for their exceptional impact. The winner, LUP, developed a revolutionary smart magnifying glass that converts text into speech, catering to individuals with reading difficulties. Following closely were Rooral, a rural coliving initiative; Indya, a nutrition platform for athletes; and WIVI Vision, which utilizes clinical video games to evaluate and improve vision.

The competition’s unique format, which featured pitches and performances, took place at The Madrid Ship, drawing hundreds of attendees passionate about social entrepreneurship. The event’s central theme emphasized the collective power of entrepreneurs in creating a better world.

An esteemed jury, consisting of Manu Marín, Vicent Rosso, Josep Coll, and Yaiza Canosa, evaluated the projects based on their innovation, impact, and potential for growth. The winning projects received significant funding, with LUP taking home 40,000 euros, followed by Rooral with 30,000 euros, Indya with 20,000 euros, and WIVI Vision with 10,000 euros.

A Vision for a Brighter Future

Organizers of the Impact Social Cup aspire to establish the event as a global benchmark, recognizing the power of social entrepreneurship in driving meaningful change. As Tomás Garnelo, co-founder of the Impact Social Cup, emphasized, “The future of the competition is equally promising, and we will not stop until we achieve it, because future generations need real models, values, and projects with meaning and purpose.”
