The FEB has been working for weeks on the express nationalization of Lorenzo Dontez Brown, 31 years old, a former UNICS and Fenerbahçe point guard, so that he can play the Eurobasket that starts for the National Team on September 1 in Georgia. Brown would have to give up the American passport to obtain the Spanish one. Ricky Rubio’s serious injury and Sergio Rodríguez’s resignation from the National Team have forced Sergio Scariolo and the Federation itself to look for an alternative, a plan B, so that the sports performance of the national team does not suffer.
Lorenzo Brown is an option, but the procedures, which should also go through the Council of Ministers, are not easy and would go a long way. However, it is an open possibility.
