Sp. Braga Dominates FC Porto Statistically, Pushing Dragons to Season Lows

New statistical data reveals that FC Porto delivered their weakest performance of the season against rivals Sp. Braga, struggling significantly in key metrics during a recent league encounter.

The Portuguese giants completed a mere 70 percent of their passes. This represents their lowest pass completion rate of the current season, with only 201 successful passes out of 286 attempts.

FC Porto also registered an unprecedented low in progressive meters gained with the ball, managing only 325 meters. Their previous season low had been 680 meters, highlighting the extent of their offensive stagnation.

In stark contrast, Sp. Braga showcased remarkable efficiency. The team achieved an 88 percent pass accuracy, completing 576 successful passes.

This pass efficiency mark is the second-highest recorded by any team in the current league campaign. Sp. Braga’s control was further evidenced by accumulating 846 actions with the ball.

This figure ranks as the fourth-highest in the competition. It gains added significance given the match was played at FC Porto’s home stadium, Estádio do Dragão.

The Braga side now holds four of the top five records for total ball actions in a single league match, underscoring their consistent, possession-based approach.

Further illustrating the uneven contest, FC Porto only maintained 25 percent of possession in the final offensive third, a metric known as ‘field tilt’. Sp. Braga dominated this area with 75 percent.
