Johannesburg. South African pacemaker Lungi Ngidi tested positive for COVID-19, ruling him out of the three-game ODI series at home against the Netherlands starting Friday at Centurion. The South African Cricket Board released this information on Wednesday.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement that pacemaker Junior Dala has been included in the team in place of Ngidi. The CSA said: “Lungi Ngidi was forced to leave the tour because he tested positive for Kovid-19. He is fine and follows the Kovid-19 protocol as per CSA government rules.
Ngidi has not played for South Africa since the Irish series in July. He was not on tour in Sri Lanka for personal reasons, he was included in the squad for the T20 World Cup but did not play in a single match.
