A new feat for Soul Flyers. Wingsuit experts recently crossed the Avoriaz ski resort (Alps) at 250 km / h, under the gaze of residents and tourists.
It was Fred Fugen who had this crazy idea at the beginning of the year, before putting it into practice at the end of July.
The departure took place in free fall from a helicopter, 1,000 meters above the well-known station, already perched at 1,800 meters of altitude.
Fred Fugen then literally crossed the station at 250 km / h, under the gaze of the public present. As the photos show, the athlete passed between the buildings, at the level of certain balconies, on low ground just 15 meters above the ground. If this feat was possible, it is thanks to the unique relief and the ideal configuration of the streets. In fact, Avoriaz-1800 is built on the side of a cliff, and Fred Fugen was able to gain altitude immediately after his crossing in a gust of wind.
He was also able to apply a complex technique, which he had already tried in September 2020. By starting his performance with a dizzying dive, he was able to take advantage of this accumulated speed and then put on his wingsuit flat and stay in this position throughout the tour. I walk through the resort without losing altitude, before diving down the slope and opening your parachute.
For this highly accurate performance, he was followed by his cameraman Vincent Cotte, who secured an impressive shot.
This is not the first feat of the Soul Flyers, far from it. In 2017, for example, they had managed to jump off a cliff in a wingsuit, before they could board a plane mid-flight.
They also distinguished themselves with incredible videos filmed in Dubai, including a jump of the burj khalifa tower.
