Sophie Turner has a knack for making an impression. Sometimes, though, her charm might just create a little too much buzz, even when she doesn’t mean to.
The 29-year-old actress recently chatted on Late Night With Seth Meyers. She visited the show on a Thursday, August 14th, to talk about her upcoming movie, ‘Trust’. During their conversation, Turner and host Seth Meyers, 51, took a trip down memory lane. They recalled a wild Comic-Con after-party from about a decade ago.
Meyers noted that this was when ‘Game of Thrones’ was just starting to get big. He remembered the cast being in high spirits. “You guys were very animated,” he told her. Turner agreed that everyone was definitely “in a really good mood.” But she quickly pointed out that much more happened that night than just celebrating. “That night was pretty crazy for me,” she admitted. “Everything fell apart very quickly.”
Turner, who jokingly said she couldn’t share names, then told a surprising story. She had accidentally caused drama between a famous couple at the event. She brought her best friend from school to the party. Her friend spotted an actor she really liked. Sophie, being helpful, gave him a friendly wave.
Later, Turner noticed a woman staring at her. It turned out this woman was also a well-known actress. Turner herself was a fan of this unnamed star. So, she decided to walk over and greet her, doing a little dance as she approached. “She said, ‘Can you stop flirting with my fiancé?'” Turner recounted. “I was like, ‘Who is your fiancé?'” The woman then pointed to the very actor Sophie had waved to earlier. Turner explained, “I had no idea who that man was.”
She added a shocking detail: “It turns out I think they broke their engagement that night because of my greeting.” Turner was surprised by the unintended outcome. “I hadn’t realized I had this power,” she mused.
Years later, Turner has found herself making headlines for her own love life. She was married to Joe Jonas for four years. He filed for divorce in September 2023. Since then, Turner has moved on and is now with Peregrine Pearson.
Just before her late-night show appearance, Turner spoke up about raising her children with Jonas, 36. She offered a rare comment, defending herself against online critics about her mothering. Turner and Jonas have two daughters together: Willa, who is 5 years old, and Delphine, who is 3.
Earlier this month, Turner shared a fun moment on Instagram. She posted about enjoying an Oasis concert in London. “Bucket hats and beers. That’s enough for me. Thanks, @levis,” she wrote in her post. One person decided to comment, “Hahaha, I think she forgot she has two kids.”
Turner was quick to respond. “Oh, I’m so sorry, sometimes, I forget that there are people who cannot think for themselves,” she joked back. “So, listen to this… There’s a crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their father that day.”
