Sony is diving head-first into the fighting game scene with a new project – a custom arcade stick designed specifically for gamers who crave a more authentic experience.
A New Player Enters the Scene
The project, codenamed “Project Defiant”, was unveiled during the recent State of Play event. This wireless arcade stick uses PlayStation Link technology to minimize latency and also supports USB-C connectivity for tournament play.
The stick’s design is sleek and simple, with a black and white color scheme reminiscent of the DualSense controller. It’s built with ergonomics in mind, ensuring a comfortable fit for players. Additional features include the ability to wake up a PlayStation 5 console with the press of a button.
What Sets it Apart
While the project doesn’t have an official name yet, it’s slated for release in 2026. With many players opting for leverless or button-based alternatives, it’ll be interesting to see how Sony’s arcade stick stacks up against the competition.
