PlayStation 5 users are getting a fresh look with new animated backgrounds. These aren’t just any images – they’re from popular games like Days Gone, Demon’s Souls, and God of War Ragnarok.
Each background is dynamic, adding some visual flair to the console’s Welcome tab.
What’s new
PlayStation added backgrounds from:
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Horizon: Forbidden West
- Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
- Rise of the Ronin
- Stellar Blade

To change your background, head to the Welcome Hub on your PS5. But here’s the thing: these new backgrounds are only available to some users for now.
Some users are still waiting for the return of the 30th-anniversary PlayStation theme. Sony knows fans want it back and is considering bringing it back in the future.
