A French independent studio is set to release “Guilty as Sock!,” a new PC party game in May 2025 that pits anthropomorphic socks against each other in absurd courtroom battles.
The game, developed by Demon Max, emphasizes social interaction and rhetorical skill over complex graphics or technical progression. Players assume various roles, including judge, prosecutor, defense lawyer, defendant, jury, witness, or even a journalist.
Matches begin with an outlandish accusation, prompting participants to use random evidence cards to build their cases or defenses. The gameplay encourages creative arguments, yelling, and laughter among players.
“Guilty as Sock!” is designed for quick, casual sessions, making it suitable for multiplayer fun without requiring continuous hours of dedication.
The game boasts simple mechanics and light visuals, making it accessible to a wide audience without demanding powerful hardware. It is set for release on May 29, 2025.
Minimum PC specifications include Windows 7 (64-bit) or macOS, a Dual Core 1.8 GHz processor, 8 GB of RAM, and basic integrated graphics. The game requires approximately 1 GB of disk space.
The game was listed at approximately 16.39 Brazilian Reais (about $3.28 USD) with a 20% discount when its price was last observed on December 2, 2025, though platform pricing is subject to change.
