Sneh Rana Returns to Indian Women’s Cricket Team for England Tour After 27 Months

India’s women’s cricket team is gearing up for a busy schedule in England, with a 5-match T20 series followed by a 3-match ODI series. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, has been announced by the BCCI.

Return of Sneh Rana and Shafali Verma

Sneh Rana makes a comeback to the T20 squad after 27 months, having last played on February 23, 2023. She was part of the Indian team that won the tri-series in Sri Lanka recently. Shafali Verma, known for her explosive batting, also returns to the T20 squad after a strong showing in the Women’s Premier League. She’s been out of all formats since October 2024.

The T20 squad features 15 players, including:

The ODI squad has 16 players and is set to face England in a crucial series ahead of the Women’s ODI World Cup in India later this year. The World Cup, scheduled from September 29 to October 26, will feature 8 teams.

Upcoming Men’s Team Announcement

The BCCI is expected to announce the men’s team for the England tour soon. With Rohit Sharma’s potential retirement, speculation is rife about the new captain. Reports suggest Shubman Gill might take the reins.
