Apparently Qualcomm will keep the tradition of releasing two top chips a year and soon the manufacturer will release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
Both chips stand out for their power, but they differ in one essential aspect: their 4nm process technology.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus uses TSMC’s 4nm process technology

It was in the first days of December last year that Qualcomm presented its superior Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and is now preparing to, as is the brand’s tradition, launch the improved version Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
And while both chips stand out for their performance capabilities, they are distinguished by one crucial factor: 4nm process technology. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was and is being produced using Samsung’s 4nm process, the Plus version of the chip will use TSMC’s 4nm technology.
Several market experts have already come forward to declare that Taiwanese company TSMC’s 4nm process is superior to that of South Korean competitor Samsung, in terms of energy efficiency and maturity.
In fact, in some news it has already been reported that Qualcomm did not turn to TSMC for the production of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, due to the volume of work that the company had for the launch of Apple chips.
Overheating issues may “reshape” early Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Unfortunately, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has experienced some overheating issues. This has led smartphone makers to add powerful cooling systems to their models, as we’ve seen with every release that packs Qualcomm’s superior processor.
Exactly because of these overheating issues, Qualcomm will be able to give its latest processor an “early makeover.” According to the rumors spread around the world, Qualcomm is really pushing and rushing TSMC for a faster launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
And, therefore, very soon the brand will be able to announce and then reveal the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus version, which should enter the market in the last quarters of the year, with the launch of new smartphones already equipped with this chip.
